Our office is on Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta, and most of the owners we work with are within a short drive of it. Where your business sits matters, because the licenses, the local business tax, and even the sales tax rate depend on which side of a boundary your address falls. Here is how it looks from each place we work.

La Crescenta

La Crescenta is our home base. Much of it is unincorporated Los Angeles County, which means a business license here comes from the County, not a city. Sales tax matters too: on October 1, 2026, the rate in unincorporated LA County rose to 10.25%, and we walk through it in our write-up of the increase. Starting out? Use the Crescenta Valley startup checklist.

Montrose

Montrose sits right beside La Crescenta, and it is also largely unincorporated Los Angeles County. The same rules apply: a County business license and the County sales tax rate. We handle books, payroll, and taxes for Montrose owners the same way we do for the rest of the Crescenta Valley.

Glendale

Glendale is a few blocks from La Crescenta, and the rules change at the city line. Glendale issues its own city business license and has its own business tax, so an owner with a Glendale address deals with the city, not the County. Our local tax and license map shows where the difference lies, and the startup checklist splits the steps by location. Glendale employers can also read about our payroll service.

What this means for you

Check the street address, not the ZIP code. A storefront a few blocks away can fall under a different city, a different license, and a different business tax.

La Cañada Flintridge

La Cañada Flintridge is the next community over, and we work with owners there on bookkeeping, payroll, and taxes. Because the local rules differ from La Crescenta’s, we check the license and tax requirements for your actual address when we start.

Tujunga and Sunland

Sunland and Tujunga are neighborhoods of the City of Los Angeles. We work with owners in both, on books, payroll, and the filings that go with them. As with every location, we confirm the city-level requirements for your address at the outset.

Pasadena

Pasadena is a city with its own local requirements, and we work with Pasadena owners the same way we work with everyone else: current books, payroll on schedule, and tax planning done ahead of the deadline. We check what applies to your address up front.

Burbank

Burbank is another city with its own local requirements. For Burbank owners, we keep the books current, run payroll and filings on a calendar, and plan the taxes ahead of time, with the local license and tax questions confirmed for your address.

Los Angeles County generally

Beyond these communities, we work with small businesses across Los Angeles County: restaurants, optometrists, wholesalers, service stations, law firms, and grocery stores, among others. Our free 2026 California tax deadline calendar applies wherever in the county you are. See our services for the full picture.

Distance is not a barrier

Most of the work happens by phone and email, so distance inside Los Angeles County is not a barrier. You are welcome at the office on Foothill Blvd., but you do not need to be.
